I made this site after family members discovered my grandfathers journal, describing his life from childhood until he was sent home from WWII, and after I found several old photos I had never seen before. I set out to simply type of the journal and simply share it with family members, and restore some very old photos, however I ended up researching my genealogy, creating an interactive family tree and an interactive map showing my grandfather’s movements during WWII.
I’ve been contacted by distant family members and given much more information I need to add to the site. This is an open-ended project, and I intend to continually add to it for years to come.
